The East Berkshire Football League
About
The East Berkshire League consists of 3 Leagues. The Ascot and District founded in 1903, the Maidenhead District founded in 1927 and the Windsor Slough and District League, although i don't have a date for when that started. In 1960 the Ascot and District League consisted of 2 divisions then in 1963 the Maidenhead League dissolved thus adding a 3rd Division.
It remained like this for some time, with sponsorship for Pages of South Ascot, we progressed.

With each League there is a cup competition. The Maidenhead Norfolkian Cup is dated 1889, The Ascot and District Fielden Cup is 1920 and the Slough Town is 1923.

The Fielden Cup is a charity cup competition and money raised is distributed to local charities, preferably self-supporting, nominated by the finalists, if they so wish. In 2006 £250 was each donated to Thames Valley Hospice and Sean Gold, a young boy of 8 who has lost a leg to cancer and now has lung cancer. A further donation for £400 was made to the The Amy Lousie Fund, to help Amy who has a rare form of Muscular dystrophy. Also the Fielden Cup invites clubs not teams and is limited to 32 - Finalists only have to play 4 games. As President to the East Berkshire League, I of course support all 3 cups, although this gives the fixtures secretary a bit of a headache arranging fixtures. The other 2 cups give their money away as proze money, and souvenirs.

Hoping you will all enjoy your football, as football should be played, for enjoyment, and winning should be considered a bonus.
